My entry for the contest hosted by JazZeke. A scene that was not an actual scene from the Legends story, but one of the professors stated that Tar'ril hid in a cave after his attempt to escape. It was a sad story, reading that he never got to see his son again, I just imagine him alone and heartbroken. Added origianl text from the story.

Even in the thumb, that expression has impact. Lovely texture on the fur.

I have not read this story but this image conveys so much on its own. The texture on the hairs is lovely and the little splatters of blood help show exactly where this guy has been. The text combined with the sad dog face is just gut wrenching. Overall, good job.
